Who we are
A family workshop, three generations deep.
TK Fireside is a family owned and operated manufacturer in Akron, Ohio. Founded in 2025 by Brett Lyren, grandson of Thermo-Rite founder John E. Lydle, we carry forward the original glass fireplace enclosure that started it all.
Alongside the TK Fireside (formerly Thermo-Rite) line, we're developing a new custom-built Luxury Line with Kim Schedlbauer, formerly of the David Kimberly Door Company. New engineering, materials, and finishes launching through 2026.

Thin-Line
Welded steel angle enclosure that sits snugly inside the fireplace opening. Minimal frame, burnished construction.
Celebrity
Curved 'picture frame' detailing in aluminum with bevel accents. Our most affordable and distinctive door. Overlap fit only.
Cameo
Our thinnest overlapping enclosure: 7/8" outer frame, 3/8" inner frame, all aluminum. Inside or Overlap fit.
Laser
1¾" aluminum outer frame protruding just 3/8" from the fireplace face, hidden door-return track for a clean one-piece look. Overlap fit only.
Reserve
Anodized aluminum with a wider three-sided frame and minimal bottom strip to maximize the fireplace view. Powder-coated in any of 9 finishes.
Z Heritage
Laser-cut steel frame with air-intake venting. Overlap fit; installs over marble, tile, or any non-combustible surface up to 5/8" thick.
Z Door
Sleek, tarnish-free aluminum enclosure with a 7/8" frame. Uses Air Studs™ or an Air Draft Bar™ to preserve firebox air intakes.
Special Z
Aluminum with bi-fold, full-swing trackless doors. Inside fit only, 7/8" frame with ¼" air gap.
